Skype signing me out

Skype decided to upgrade itself lat night. Something odd happens now, at least, I think it only happened after the upgrade. When I quit Skype, (but not sign out), and then reload Skype, it loads up with me signed in, but only for less than a second. It then closes, reloads and presents me with the sign in box. I have to then sign in. I sign in and all is fine. When I quit Skype, it does the same thing all over.

If I don't sign in after I'm presented with the sign in box, quit Skype, and then reload Skype again, then again it shows me as signed in, and after less than a second, again it will present me with the sign in box.


I already uninstalled and reinstalled Skype but makes no difference. My version is 7.9.64.103. Anyone else get the same thing or have a possible solution?

I had this problem before. A while ago now though. I think I deleted config.xml in the \AppData\Roaming\Skype\live#yourusername folder. Of course can just move it, not delete, to test. If that doesn't work you can try delete/move the entire Skype folder in \AppData\Roaming.

Winner! I moved the config.xml to my desktop without deleting it and reloaded Skype. It went through one or two setup things as though I'd just installed it and now it's staying signed in and has created a replacement config.xml. Conversation log hasn't been deleted either and I just redid my font type and size.
