Skyrim audio issue

Hi guys,

I've had absolutely no issues running Skyrim so far, however lately when in 3rd person weapon sounds etc are not present or sound very washed out, in 1st person if you look directly at the person talking it becomes very low, move your gaze elsewhere and it becomes clear as day....

My ex girlfriends nephew was around the other day and used the computer, and the problem has been since then, I've tried fiddling around with the in game audio settings and tried the tool bar volume mixer on desktop with no joy......


Can someone please suggest a fix?

have you accidentally got your pc set to use 5.1 with only a 2.1 system? I often forget to switch back from my headset to speakers and it causes this for me, confuses me for ages!

Thank you mate, that seems to have sorted it; Could murder the little Spanish beggar! lol
