Skyrim + ENB - Graphics Card Thread

I know to well what Skyrim is like with one being amazing and another being a bit off, done it on my installs a few times. Had one version looking really good and running 60 all the time without ENB to another install that keeps dropping to 45 and the same mods :)

Skyrim, pfff such a pain

I sometimes think I've spent more time downloading & installing mods on mine than playing it - & gave up a couple of months ago as I wanted the eye candy without the low fps & stutters, pending replacing my AMD 290.

Any ideas about what is best for SKyrim plus ENB plus mods, I'm currently tempted by the 980s but with an eye on those 8GB AMD 290Xs ... would 8GB on a 290X give it the edge over a 980?

I was running loads of mods and ENB and didn't come anywhere near 3GB VRAM let alone 8!

( Removing the Bethseda High Res Textures and using the 2-4k Texture mods worked a treat on mine )

A few screenshots from tonight.

Outdoors it was running at around 50fps. In cities like Whiterun (shown in the screenie) it was running at around 42fps

Still too low for me, I think it really does need Crossfire/Sli or a beefy GPU for those damn ENB's :D Nice screenies btw!

guys I might have just remembered something I did to get my crossfire working 100% and have perfect DOF and constant 60fps godliness everywhere. Give it a go, it might be your final piece to the puzzle.

I renamed my TES5.exe to Fear.exe

Then in Data/SKSE I made a change to my SKSE.ini config. I put this in "[Loader]
RuntimeName=Fear.exe"

then launch the game via the skse_loader and voila

I HOPE MATSON SEES THIS LOL

Um wow, frame rates have gone to like 25-30 low average, to high 60 average. It's like I just put a 780TI in my system :D

Just modifying the ENB and testing profiles as at the moment's it's major flicker, bright and vram usage is at 3786 :( I think I set my GPU vram too high
