skyrim freezing

when i play skyrim on the 360 (original arcade) it jams after about 10mins of use and the xbox becomes unresponsive, it doesnt make any different noises it simply stops working also does this when i try to enter certain buildings.

it only freezes on skyrim and ive tried 2 different copies of the game, it started doing this after the last update which ive deleted and cleared the cache and reinstalled the update but it still does it. any ideas or should i just buy a slim?

Could be the Xbox itself on it's way out. Is it really hot? And are the vents clear etc.

The latest update seems to make mine crash after 30 seconds or so, so I've shelved it until another update comes out in the hope that something will be fixed (PS3).
I've done over 90+ hours and I'm not anywhere near finishing the main quest line, kinda annoying.

I was playing Skyrim on Xbox last night so sounds like its your Xbox, but if it only happens with Skyrim, thats weird.

My first 360 had RROD after about 10 mins playing Oblivion - maybe its the series that kills them?

Still never played Oblivion or Skyrim for that matter...

bleh i havent played skyrim for a few weeks. skyrim and fm4 both make my xbox make a racket for a couple mins before settling down (both are installed to the 250gb hdd) and its only those games that make the disc/hdd noise. the xbox gets hot but not any hotter than my brothers console which is the same model with a smaller hdd. im just gonna buy a slim tbh, get a 4gb model and stick my hdd in it.

no vents are blocked, the console is on its side, i have considered leaving the top cover off so it gets more air.
