Skyrim problem

Hey. basically ive just had a load of upgrades and reinstalled windows 7

I downloaded steam and then installed skyrim using my disc and it auto updates while installing

but after i click play it just comes up skyrim stopped working, windows is searching for a solution, then comes up with no ideas, any ideas on how to solve this? it's doing my nut in atm

You've installed all windows updates and drivers for graphics, sound and whatever else yes?

Yeah, graphics card is on 285.62 and i've installed all windows updates. all other games work fine :S

ask steam to verify the game cache to check everything has been and remains installed

Did the verify game cache, still just coming up the skyrim stopped working, change the sound quality too as it's been suggested online, i can't find anything online about the problem. tried reinstalling my mobo drivers and nvidia ones and still the same problem, same problem with deleting steam and skyrim and reinstalling both :S

try running it in administrator steam and the skyrim shortcut, and i didnt usemy disk when i installed i just let steam download it all..

I guess uninstall, install via disc (install via media)
