Afternoon guys. I've recently started playing Skyrim again after not touching it since launch. All has been running fine until recently I loaded the game and my character's shadow now appears to be some kind of icy rune that emits white/blue mist.

The first 4 images show the "shadow" itself and the last image shows the annoying mist that now follows me everywhere. If it weren't for this mist I could live with it but it's annoying to look at and kills any immersion.
I'm running a few mods but nothing that changes shadows or textures except the official texture mod and disabling them does nothing. Loading earlier saves before this started doesn't resolve it either, neither does verifying files through steam.
Any suggestions before I give up on this save and reinstall the game?
