Skyrim - worth a purchase?

Wont install it for a long time, just thought I'd put some money in the coffers :p

Still though, the DLC's need to come down in price!!

What are some of the essential mods? Including ones for textures etc. and is it worth installing mods on a first time playthrough or shall I wait until I've played first?

If you've got the system for it, just the texture mods and any big quests!

See the skyrim thread on ocuk for details :)

how long is a piece of string?

You can just throw some weather mods, nice lighting fx and an ENB and it'll be less than 400MB on top of skyrim.

You can overhaul the game completely with HD textures, new weapons, new voice acted NPCs, complete new maps etc etc and it'll add another 10-15GB

Well a complete overhaul, the best it can be really!

I haven't played Skyrim in over a year and didn't bother with the DLC, got bored. £3.74 is a ridiculous price for a game as big and as recent as that so you'll have to be absolutely mad to hold out if you are. Even if you don't end up liking it it's still worth it.

Gone all in for "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary", didn't seem that much more for what the DLC's describe to get even more out of it. Not my usual game genre in terms of mystical type games but I like open world discovery rather than being led by the hand so hopefully will be good. I guess so many people's good reviews cant all be wrong.
