Hi

I have enquired a Q6600 and was intending to fit it to my GA-965P-DS3.

Last month I bought a GTX275 from OCUK and before I take the board out to fit the Q6600 I was thinking about changing the board also, I have a feeling it might hold the CPU back.

At the moment I'm running an E6400 @ 3.2 and its been stable for 2 years. I'm only going Quad so I can stack 100+ meg astro images and merge them.

Any recommendations or will the board I have be OK?

Cheers

Board should be fine, just make sure it has the latest bios for the most compatability. Though I think it should be fine anyway, the 965 was a great overclocking chipset so you should get some good clocks out of it.

obviously if your q6600 is g0 steppng then that would be great to overclock, the boards with the p35 chipset are great with the q6600, but the board you have is great, should be fine to overclock, usually the q6600 with g0 stepping overclock to 3.6ghz quite easily

I need to buy another motherboard now :(

i just tried installing my CPu and one memery banks gone down ...

Anyone point me to a good board on OC...

Cheers
Guy
