Sent my PN1 form off for my student loan the other day. They rang my mam at work today saying that they received the letter containing only my mams P60 and thats it, missing my PN1 forms and my dads P60, which meant they had bother tracking me down. Anyways, they rang me at home this morning being adament id forgot to send everything (:rolleyes: ) and i told them exactly to the finest detail what was in the envelope. She sat quiet for a few seconds then said 'Your gonna have to complete the form again'. Excellent i though as im off on holiday on monday, theyve lost all the tax info and my dads P60 and my loan form. She didnt tell me where to get another form or anything, just hung up on me. Anyways, she rang me back 5 mins later and said they had found it in a different envelope, saying i must have sent 2 envelopes (idiots), but its all there.

Are the SLC always this docile, or did i just have some bad luck? Im glad they found everything and its sorted, but what a morning its been!

in my experience they've always been pretty rubbish. They lost all my documents, despite me sending them via recorded delivery, and caused me loads of hassle as I was trying to get a mortgage at the time and needed the stuff to show my advisor. I begged them to take photocopies or a letter from my employer but they wouldn't budge :( Then they charged me while I was busy amassing another 3 months statements!

just be glad you don't have to deal with the NHS student grant unit on top of that
they are even worse
we lost 4 memebers of my course this year when grants / loans weren't paid and they couldn't afford to stay on :(

im glad you have it all sorted now :)
 
I filled mine in online and recieved my financial notification letter about a week later. I even got my birth certificate back in 2 days, must have caught them on a good week. :p
 
I took my P60 in for a tax refund the week or so back, they really have messed me about, I took in that form that says "don't tax me I'm a student!!!" about 6 times yet they still did.

The SLC's incompetence continues even when you leave Uni. They keep taking about 10% of my earnings each month even thought thats miles more than they should, and keep threatening my girlfriend with action unless she starts paying her's back, except she's unemployed and thus earning exactly 15k less than the 15k barrier needed to start paying back. :rolleyes:
