Hi all,

Thought I'd get the general consensus amongst y'all.

What method do you use for your home PC and/or Laptop.

Do you:
Put the computer to sleep when not in use, so it is immediately ready when you come back to it?
Put the computer into Hibernation mode so you can start from where you left off, but the computer is otherwise off?
Shut down the computer completely and start it up again when next needed?

Pls post hard drive type as well (HDD/SSD).

Personally on my laptop, I used to use sleep/hibernate exclusively as it took for EVER to boot from cold. Although now I have updated to an SSD I am starting to wonder whether I need to use sleep/hibernate to keep things loaded when the SSD boots so fast...

What say you!

On and active 24/7, screen off when not in use.

Booo! :P

I think, on reflection, I am going to start using shutdown more. Seeing as I have an SSD now it takes literately no time at all to load the system, so why not? I will continue to use sleep/hibernate if I need to start from where I left off.

Previously, as mentioned, when I had a normal HDD I would use sleep/hibernate as the boot times was SOOOOOOOOOO LOOOOOOONG!
