I'm trying to piece together a home run gaming server for me and my friends.

It will only be used for a few hours on a night and be accessed occasionally through the day my admins, setting up or adding new mission builds etc.

I'd like it to be low powered, but powerful. Im looking into mabe an fx 6100 at the cpu.

The point of the post is this. Obviously having the pc hibernating whilst not in use would be a major plus on power. Is it possible to have an admin logging in to the pc, to be able to wake it from sleep mode and put it back into it?

It's possible but it's quite a bit of hassle for not much power saving. If you build the machine correctly it's going to be using very very little power and for the £10 per year you save you may as well just leave it running and not have the added hassle and frustration of essentially turning it off/on all the time.
