Hi i got this annoying problem that i can,t get sleep mode to work on my pc,i,m using windows 7 64bit,it worked 2 days ago and since then it won,t do it anymore,i have just formatted windows with nothing else on pc and it still does it,have tried everything i could find on the web none work, anyone got the same problem?i even put the latest bois update on and still won,t work:(,have tried disabling stuff, done the nic-changed the power options ran out if idea's now.

yer thats what it does the monitor goes into sleep mode for about 2 secs then it all just boots back up again...i have sort of got it working now,i have to disable the mouse and keyboard in device manager take out the tick in allow to wake up computer,i can,t understand why i have got to do that now never had to before,i have to press the start button now to get it to wake up..

Sleep is a funny thing and always will be funny. Ive seen USB devices stop it working, Hardware, software in the start up and overclocks stopping it.

If you go into the bios some mobos can be set what wakes a computer up and what doesnt. Also when it does it disable all start up programs in msconfig and unplug all usb devices and see whether it still does it.

i have checked the bios changed it reset i,i now now its something to do with my mouse and keyboard,if i put a tick in allow to wake up computer it just restarts after 2 sec but if i disable allow to wake up it will sleep untill i push the start button,i just have to manage with that it might correct itself at some point, just strange it never used to do it,and i have done a clean install of windows and updated everything, and even in Vanilla state it still does it..

hmmm weird. If your using something like a g15 or something make sure you have the latest drivers from logitech.

You working nightshifts or something?

i have installed the latest drivers for my g15,but i had the problem before i did them...lol no i have been trying to find a solution to this so not been to bed yet, will give in now as i have tried everything..

I had a similar problem. I think it was due to tasks bringing my pc out of sleep.

Look through task scheduler and disable/change the trigger for any you don't need that is set to run at a specific time. I recall there were about 2-3 all related to some MS customer improvement nonsense on my win 7 install that would trigger my pc to start up in the early hours of the morning and restart it when I wanted it to go to sleep.

Other things to look at would be to disable Wake on Magic Packet and Wake on Pattern Match in the advanced tab of your network cards configuration properties if you have not all ready. Also un-tick the "Allow this device to wake the computer" in the power management tab.

Hope you get it sorted as I remember how frustrating it was when my PC was doing the same after I changed motherboards.

hi,thanks for the tips,i have tried all them,i did another clean install today and did the bios again still doing it,i have no idea now,but if anyone has something i not tried i give it a go...

I had the same issue on an old Dell of mine. Turned out my wireless Microsoft keyboard/mouse was the problem, as sleep mode started working again once I changed them for wired ones.

Hi just thought i come back and tell you after 2 late nights i have just sorted the problem :Dafter doing 3 re-installs changing power settings and setting bios to default and it still didn,t work i was just about to put a hammer to it when i decided i reset the cmos,so i just done that and it all works,to say i,m over the moon is a understatement..lol..thanks agin for your help,i going to sleep now a very happy bunny :)
