Hi guys,
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, couldn't find anywhere else it could go!
At the moment my desktop is currently running 24/7 and would like to start putting it into sleep mode through the night. I have a media streamer that connects to my pc's hard drives over the network and would like to connect to them while my pc is in sleep mode, is this possible or does the PC need to be awake to be able to read from the hard drives? I know you can change the power options of the drives to keep running while in sleep but are they still connectable through the network?
Also, I recently bought a new windows 8.1 laptop that I would like to schedule some maintenance tasks on while it's asleep. I know it's possible for the tasks to wake the pc when needed but will this work when the lid is closed?
Hope you can help.
Thanks
