I am having real issues with sleep atm. For quite a while now, no matter how much sleep I get I always wake up very VERY tired and it's a real task to drag myself out of bed. I sleep right through the night and since I finished my course at College mid-June I've been sleeping right through to Noon although I find it extremely hard to get to sleep before 2am no matter what I do.

I have tried relaxing with a bath before bed, reading, listening to music... nothing works.

I was thinking of trying sleeping tablets but I'm not sure if that will help.

Anyone else have the same problem?

Dude, you're sleeping around 10 hours which is too much, and you're not going to bed until 2am, waking up at 12am or later, that is your problem. It's not good. Stop looking for causes elsewhere without sorting this out first.

I understand what you're saying but I try to sleep much earlier but I end up just tossing and turning and it's only around 2am - 3am when I actually fall asleep. Last night I went to bed straight after 8 out of 10 cats - 10:30, and I just couldn't fall asleep.

Coming to think of it, the only time when I've felt refreshed and woke up early is when I've been drinking the night before. Maybe it's more a case of not having a deep enough sleep?

I said I wouldn't but I can't help myself :(

Your choices are :

1. Make an appointment to see your GP next week. His/Her clinical knowledge, expertise and experience will either tell you that (a) things medically are fine but you need to work on how you sleep or (b) you have something that needs to be addressed, or ...

2. You wait for someone on a computer forum to tell you that they also don't sleep too well and that it's fine.

Seriously, what do you not get about this? Get off the internet and speak to a bloody doctor, man!

I know but I can't just go straight to a doc right now. :p

Stayed off the Cola all day yesterday, went for a jog late afternoon and then fishing at the river just before 9. Back at 10:30 and listened to the last half hour of Russell Brand on Radio 2.

Dozed off pretty quick and woke up at 6:30am.

Now that's a start. :)

Only problem is, despite waking up naturally, I'm starting to feel tired again already but hopefully if I keep the same sort of cycle up my body will get used to it.
