"sleep" wont work anymore [vista]

ok so on my keyboard is a power button. Every night I press this and my pc goes to sleep.

I wiggle the mouse and it turns back on, great as its a wireless kb/mouse and quick and easy. Never had a problem before.

Now when i press it it just logs me off and turns the monitor connection off. The pc continues to run. Even the sleep button through start menu just, logs me off and turns monitor off :/

Any help?

err that what standby does, spin down hdd's and put everything in super low power mode, but still running. What were you expecting?

You mean you want to be able to wake via keyboard or mouse? I think thats an option in the bios somewhere? Or check around vista?

On a slightly related note, i've found sleeping to be a pain in vista so far, laptop goes to sleep fine, but its poo at waking up, haha, its hit and miss if my mouse is detected properly, or the external HDD is accessible and even more strange *all* my previous folders on it aren't "empty" which was scary the first time that happened, and if both external monitor and LCD keep their priority and both wake up. I know its mostly (or all) driver based, but either way it's a right pita every few times a day!

No i mean, the computer doesnt power down. Everything still whirring at full whack.
It worked fine since I've installed vista and got this keyboard, just yesterday its stopped functioning properly.

I want to know why its randomly stopped working properly, and just seems to go into a standby mode, (log me out and switch off the monitors)
