When putting my computer into sleep mode it always used to switch everything off HDD's etc and the fans would stop.

Recently when making my computer sleep the monitor is just turning off and fans and everything else staying on.

Is there a way to revert back to what i used to have?

I am running Vista Ultimate 64 bit

Sounds like you need to have a look at Control Panel>Power Options then "Change when the computer sleeps" and check the advanced settings. That or try the default settings.

With regard to above my computer always used to sleep properly but it's only recently since this has not been the case. So i am sure it is not a physical problem and more so a setting tweak.

Have you got the Suspend State in your bios set to S1 or S3?

Welcome to the forums! Nice first post - I'd say that's the problem.

Seems like the system is going into S1 sleep rather than S3. Have a scout around in the BIOS power management settings.

Ive just had a problem where by my computer would resume from sleep but not my monitor (I would have to reset my power on button, reboot and after a disk check for errors it would load into windows)
Solution: remove GFX card drivers from add/remove programmes, then run driver sweeper in safe mode. Reinstall drivers and viola sleep mode works as it should. Might be worth a shot with a clean GFX driver re-install.
