looking in too sleeving..

read a few posts which have been very useful..

is there lots of difference between the expensive stuff and the cheaper stuff.

also for the tools..

any useful sites. i guess its allowed as overclockers dont sell it..

also do people shorten wires and re-crimp the ends to neaten up installs..

1. The expensive stuff (i.e mdpc) is in my opinion far better than the cheaper lower quality braid which can sometimes still show the original wire colour coming through.

Also might be worth looking at some of the pre braided cables on OCUK as they save a lot of time and also means you don’t have any warranty problems if your psu goes.

2. You can get crimping tools and pin release tools from loads of places again mpdc also do these (don’t think OCUK do from a quick look) You can also make molex pin removers out of staples and paper clips if you want to do it on the cheap.

3. I have read conflicting stories about this some people I have seen do it without any problems for itx builds where the cables are far to long. I have also read a number of people advising against doing it due to its difficulty with some of the cables and also whether or not cables should be crimped or soldered back together. In theory yes it can be done but not easily by the sound of things

will look at the mdpc stuff and tools..

not to worried about shortening wires unless theres certain types that dont shorten well..

can re crimp and solder wires easily as i make lots of cables at work
