SLI 285

Hi Guys, I've just got hold of another Asus gtx 285, I have this installed into an Asus P6X58 in sli. Can i use the 3rd PCIE slot for the second card as they are currently in the blue slots, reason being it covers both the PCI slots and i've had to remove my sound card.

your motherboard has : 3 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (at x16/x8/x8 or x16/x16/x1 mode)

so if you want to use full bandwidth speed of gpu you have to use two first ones pcie slots.

I wonder how much of a difference it would make if i plugged it into the 8x slot

not really much tbh there was review somewhere about pcie x4 x8 x16 slots , and even in x4 slot performance was sometimes equal or just a bit bellow by few fps.

Cool thanks for the info, just tried to move the second card but it's way to close to the power supply fan in an Antec 902
