HI Guys i do a lot of video editing as a hobby, After years of using Gtx 670 i upgraded to what i am assuming it the top notch for what i can fit in the case.. So got two pny Geforce RTX 2080 Ti's blower (due to space restrictions ie m/b layout and additional card in there) with the idea of sli'ing them together... So got me self a Nvidia geforce RTX 4 slot bridge, It came today, so i put on the bridge turned on the machine and Wham Bam no way option to sli. Them, What the chuff have i just wasted nearly £100 quid on this or am i missing something. Is the bridge not compatable or ???. Any insite would be very welcome..

Thanks

Just reinstalled the drivers but again no option.. This is whats making me think the bridge isn't working.. this is a picture of it..

If it is the bridge i have looked all over the net and can't find anything that says "yes this bridge works with a pny Geforce rTX 2080 Ti 11G Blower"

Done as said, And again nothing. Ye both of the cards are detected and the video editing software has enable cuda.. So both a detected, I can't under stand why there is no sli setting in the NVidia Control panel as there was with the 2x gTX 670's, Wondering if the bridge is faulty... Like its not even installed.. Or if somebody can say yes this bridge works with the cards?.. Might try another bridge.. But they ain't cheap. I have done a straight slot for slot swap with the new cards as said earlier the 670's worked fine and SLI was available...

Wouldn't it still work without the bridge? I realise it'd be awful performance wise but souldn't both cards show up anyway? Are they both in device manager, sorry if you've already mentioned it.

yes both cards are detected and TMPGENC has enable cuda as it did with gtx670's when they where sli..

U

update your bios, what CPU and MB are you running ?

also check GPUZ to see how many PCI lanes each card is using as you need at least 8x on each card for SLI support.

Its an asus p9 x79 pro (its at least 5 years old) with a Xeron E5-2680v2 All the Pcie are v3 with 16X slots as to the manual instruction.. BTW thanks i realy appreciate peoples help on this i am coming to the conclusion the boards too old.. :(

That motherboard supports SLI. I wonder, though, if you need the GPUs in the two top-most x16 slots?

So, board has 2 x 16 PCI-E slots and supports SLI, it's also previously run SLI with old 6 series cards.

PSU is plenty.

Both cards recognised.

Whats left? Another bridge/try different slots/reinstall windows?
The cards are in the 1st and 5th slot

Thanks guys for the many people who are helping me its very much appreciated, I have been maxed out on the number of posts that i can put on... by the forum. I have ordered another bridge by EVGA this time that says it's compatable with rtx 2080ti .. so waiting for that.. So hope the one i have is faulty. As many said it should be lit up and its not even doing that..

A few hours after that i got my other bridge and fitted in and again northing. So i took out the cards and reseted them, Still nothing then i thought its like no power so of the top of my head i just thought i would swapped the two power connectors from left to right sockets in each card and a bingo it lit up... Shame i have a spare one now so if anybody want it for £50 quid let me know. LOL. But really do appriecate all and everones advice.. Nice to know how helpful allot of you are.. Thanks guys... BTW I think it runs better with SLI disable LOL .. :D
