Sli / 3 Screen Advice

Hi

I have a friend who currently has a GTX580 1.5GB with 2x 22" monitors. He wants to add a 3rd and game across all three.

As I see it he has 2 realistic options:

Buy another 580 1.5GB and upgrade to a better PSU (say 1000w?)
Ditch the 580 and buy a 7970, removing the need for another psu, although less performance overall but cheaper.

Anyone got any advice or suggestions?

Will 1.5GB of VRAM be a big issue when running 5760 x 1080. He has a 2500K so cpu wise he would be ok.

The Vram will slow it down a lot, tell him to get the 7970

+1 7970 @1440 i see 2gb of usage and more when maxing games out so the 1.5gb at a res bigger than mine will suffer
