I have a gigabyte 670 WF and Im just about to order an MSI 670, ideally id like them to be the same, but cant find a WF one anywhere cheaply, or do I just go 780??

quick help please finger hovering on order button ;)

Well i picked up two GTX 670's when they were going cheap after much faffing around. Worked out £200 cheaper than a GTX 780 once the splinter cell games were sold. SLI GTX 670 will also be a fair bit faster than a GTX 780 as well so it was a no brainer ( as long as you have a good case/airflow to cope with it)

In your case, you can pick up another 670 for less than £200 or pick up a 780 for £500? Thats £300 more for less performance!

hmm so do I go for the MSI 670 or the KFA blower one, also my PSU is only 650w, did a calculation and it says my whole system would use 464w with two 670s but im not sure

Just sold my 680's and bought the 780 in my sig.

I started to get worried after selling my 680's and was thinking "what have I done".

But now I have my 780 if I was offered to have my 680's back I'd say no way, it's awesome. Might even get another in a few weeks.

I say get the 780. Get a good one though. The EVGA SC/Classy/Lightning or Mine

I don't know about the MSI one, but the KFA2 uses a 680 PCB if that matters to you. Might help the OC longevity.

Its up to 3Gb available per frame rendered, each gpu renders 1 frame at a time each(generally)=3Gb total available not 6Gb.:)

@op, 670Sli> 780 where it isn't vram/bus limited but there is dual card housekeeping to take into account.

The question you have to ask is do you want to pay more for less power(generally)/ease of use.

2x GTX 670 are a good deal faster than a single GTX 780 in 1440p. But if you take a GTX 780 with another GTX 780 in mind, then that would be the road to chose.

Personally, although single cards have their benefits obviously, i dont think they are quite £300 worth of benefits.....for a slower graphics solution...?

I was in the same situation and went with one of OCUK recent deals to upgrade to a 670. Main reason my since 670 couldn’t quite keep pace on my 1440p display. The performance is epic, BF3 and Bio Shock Infinite look amazing. Games that support SLI don’t drop below 60FPS on max detail running 1440p.
However that being said, the downside is for the games that dont support SLI. I play a lot of simulators and these dont support SLI, which is fine at the majority run fine anyway, but it would be nice if they split the load on both cards. And then there is the fact that 2 of my most eagerly awaited titles don’t support SLI, COH2 and Rome 2.

So all being said SLI is great, i have not had any issues, but its a shame that such a technology that is constantly marketed, isn’t actually supported by default by all titles. If money is no issue, go for a 780. But if you have more sense than money, SLI, and make do with the fact that some games will no benefit.

We like GTX 780s, oh yes.:)

They must be selling like hotcakes judging by the number I have seen on the benching threads.

Fantastic cards.:)

If you have a 650w supply atm then I would consider upgrading that to at least 750w before getting another 670, a 780 will be fine on a 650w supply but 2 670's will be pushing it a little. a decent manufacturer 650w might be ok though

If the 650w has a nice strong 12v line/s 650w is more than enough for 670 Sli. It's all about the quality rather than the max W.

Just been playing Crysis 3 maxed out at 1080p with 4xMSAA on my new 670's in sli. Stunning and all rolling along at an average of 60fps. Could probably stop the drops into the mid 40's if i had an i7 rather than an i5 ( GPU usage drops so i know its a bottleneck of some sort).

After selling my old 480 and all the games its only cost me just over £200 :D
