Now I'm back full time work and part time odds are I'm gonna spend a fair bit on upgrading this summer. So my question is. Do I grab another 780ti or trade mine in and use the money to get a better single GPU if so what GPU? I'll be gaming at 1440p

Like the others have said buy a 980ti

I game at 1440p and am also thinking of changing from my SLI 780ti setup to an single 980ti or to SLI 980ti
Mainly because I want the extra vram....

980ti @ 1440p is great. So much smoother then the gtx 780. But that might be down to the 6gb vram. I've left it at stock. Because the temp is already high at 83c when i did try overclocking it. It did not feel smooth. And for the extra 10fps and heat. I don't think it's worth it. But it's the best card I have owned sofar

Similar boat - 780Ti SLI pondering possible change, still can't decide.

Regarding VRAM though, I'm interested what specific games people are having issues with at 1440p?

I don't have ANY that *need* more than 3GB ram yet. I do have Shadow of Mordor, but I don't really count that. It looks hardly any different when set to ultra textures. One iffy, over-rated game. That's it.

The recent big titles like GTA 5 and Witcher 3 are also absolutely fine! Witcher 3 only uses 1.8GB at the most.

None of the AMD cards worth it then? I have vaguely been following them but haven't had time to sit and look at reviews etc.

I was waiting and hoping their new flagship Fury X would be special but unfortunately it's not faster than a 980Ti really. Went with a MSI Gaming 980Ti and I'm very impressed with it.
