SLI 8800gtx 3dmark help

Just ran my 8800GTX on 3Dmark 06 and got 11554 points. Then I tried another 8800GTX which I borrowed from a friend and got 14737 points.
I updated the drivers (correctly) and ran it again and got 14822.
Does this look about right? I have never tried SLI before so not sure how its done.

I keep saying SLI was a poor investment, i rest my case.

On a serious note though, looking through the 3D Mark list, it would seem thats about right.

Whats the rest of your system spec?

Though to be fair, it's at 1280x1024 and 3dmark06 is pretty much CPU limited.

But other than that, yeah looks about right.

As I said I borrowed this card just to see how it performed in SLI. If that's all its capable of then I would not waste my money on it.
What a total piece of poo SLI is.

What res do you game at? If it's 1600x1200 or more then SLI/Crossfire does actually perform well. Anything less and you're CPU limited as 3dmark06 is.

my monitor is only 19" 1280x1024 so that might explian it.

06 runs the bench at 1280x1024

Unless you are running a 24" Dell then SLI is not worth it.
