Well i have just updated my pc to a 970 and the rest of the stuff in my sig, however the wife just asked what i was for xmas. I have always fancied sli however i only game @1080p so is it worth while. The only game i suffer on is arma 3 getting 30fps most the time but does dip to mid 20's at times. I have just bought some 2666 ram today to help the ram situation (from 1600)

Going to order a new case this week as i had to butcher my antec 300 to fit the 970. But just dont know if i will get any performance boost in arma with two 970's

Second option is get a 4k display but will one 970 cope with that?

4.1 at the momet, just bumped the multiplier up with no extra volts due to stock cooler. My 2500k was at 4.6 but seapped it out last week.

The ram is arriving today :-D

Arma is a very CPU intensive game from what I've read.

The extra 970 would future proof you to a certain extent and I'd personally go fora 2nd 970 rather than a 4k monitor as a single 970 would struggle.

I also read that its quite CPU and Ram intensive, However its (in windows take manager) only use 50% cpu and a couple of GB of ram however i have just ordered some 2666 ram to help that area out.

Im in two minds right now the 970 at the moment (G1) is doing well at 1080p do i wait until they drop in price and get another then and spend the money else where. Custom loop etc.

I think it only uses a couple of cores, thats why cpu usage is so low. OCing a bit more to improve single core performance should give a bit of an increase too. Second 970 would definitely give you a boost in everything though and future proof you well!
