At last i have manged to get hold of a GTX 580 Twin Frozr two for a sensible price (sorry OCUK no stock of it from you)

The original card i had is running

70.10.17.00.01

With the new card`s bios

70.10.49.00.03

Question is do i have update the olders card bios ? Also how do i go about doing it? I have flash M/B and SSD but never a gpu.

You shouldn't need to have the same BIOS on both cards but if you do have problems running them in SLI it's something you may need to look into.

For example, it is rather difficult to get two Nvidia cards obtained from different vendors, which deviate from the reference specification, to cooperate in SLI. From a pool of six different GeForce GTX 580 cards, only two would work together consistently. From a pool of five different GeForce GTX 570s, only three would. We had problems mixing clock rates, BIOSes, supporting platforms, and so on.
