SLI bridge question

Does it matter what brand SLI bridge you use? Does it have to match the brand of motherboard you have? I have a Gigabyte board but it didn't support SLI until they updated the bios later on, thus I didn't get an SLI bridge boxed, but my mate has a spare ASUS 1 I could use.

You can use any make of bridge as long as it's the correct length to fit between the cards.

Some bridges are rigid so need to be the exact length and some are flexible so can be used for various card spacings.
