Hi

Ive got a PC with 2x nvidia 7900 GT's(SLI) hooked up to 2 monitors(both attached to one card) and for some reason a 3rd monitor is showing up in my display properties and i think it maybe causing problems with my second monitor(Cintiq 21UX interactive pen display).

Why does this 3rd "ghost" monitor show up and how do i get rid of it?

Also, why does enabling SLI turn off my second monitor, even when im not actually running an SLI based game. I would swear it didnt do this when i first setup my machine.

Thanks.

I know its only used on one monitor, but to have it disable my other monitor makes life awkward. Especially when it requires a reboot to disable SLI so i can use the other monitor :/

EDIT: Bah, Cant even get into the nvidia control panel with SLI enabled.

Any ideas why ive got a mysterious third monitor?

is the third monitor ghosted? .. i noticed ya said that earlier, you mean in the display properties its greyed out right ? but still there.

If this is the case that im guessing thats the TV out - showing you have that on your card, irrelevant whats being showing up.. explain how its "interfering"? with your Wacom monitor?

As far as SLI and dual monitors - you have never been able to run more than one monitor while using SLI, its a massive pain in the ass, but true.
also, im guessing you have tried a few different driver revisions? which are you currently running.

thanks for the replies chaps. Ill check the TV out options tonight, i should be able to disable it right?

I thought the ghosted tiny screen was preventing me from extending my desktop onto my second monitor, but judging by what you guys have said, its actually the SLI mode thats doing it.

Hmmm, looks like SLI isnt the way to go for me then. Looks like ill have send back my second card, OCUK are usually quite understanding.

yup the ghosted image is showing the tv out.. and as its ghosted it IS disabled so theres no need to touch anything as its not effecting anything (untill you plug it in)
and Yup another monitor wont appear in the display properties untill you disable SLI
