SLI - different brand cards

Hey all,

I remember using SLI 6800GT's when SLI first came out and you were required to have identical cards (& bioses). I had 2 identical leadtek's and they didn't work until I flashed the BIOS!

Is this still the case? my friend is thinking about adding a Point of View 7800GT to his XFX 7800GT Extreme Edition.

Any problems or can the drivers overcome these now?

Nevermind, used the search function & google. Do-able with the ForceWare 80.XX drivers.

Nope brand doesn't matter anymore, as long as they are the same card. i.e 2x 7900 GTX's, one could be from BFG the other could be from Tesco's if they made em, they would still work together in SLi.

One thing though: A guy had an oced xfx 7800gtx and the other one wasn't oced. He had a line running in the middle over the screen. After flashing both cards with the same bios the problem disseapered . So there might be something to it...
