Hi all,
Trying to SLI (2X) gtx550 TI cards. They are different brands, but same amount of memory - I only bought the second card because the Nvidia site said it would still work if I tried to use SLI. The Nvidia control panel does not show the enable function unless I install "coolbits", and when I try to enable after installing coolbits - I just get a black screen. I tried swapping the cards around and it seemed to get a little further - instead of the black screen it just takes about a minute to attempt the "enable" and then lowers the resolution but doesn't enable SLI. After that, the device manager comes up with an error code 43 on one of the cards.
I looked at some other forums which said to uninstall Realtek LAN drivers/disable - mine are intel but tried it anyway, no luck. Another forum said to flash the graphics card's BIOS - I've never tried it before but I thought I'd ask here first ;) I installed GPU-Z and the BIOS are different on each card. I also noticed that the memory buswidth and bandwidth are different.
So do you think the BIOS flash is worth a try - I'd have to look it up, but i just thought it sounded a little extreme?

disable the esata on the mobo, i had massive problems with the esata ports on my board when using sli

also you need to change your sig as its 4 lines max and you have 7 bud

Which cards do you have?

A different memory bus for each card sounds odd if they are the same chip with the same memory.

had a quick look at the mobo BIOS, couldn't see any esata options - will check again later.
Cards are :
ASUS GTX550 TI 1GB DDR5
POINT OF VIEW GTX550 TI 1GB DDR5
I don't know if theres anymore specifics i can add at the moment - I'm nocturnal and bed is calling, and the special brew is kicking in ;P
Will check back this eve - cheers for help

i think it just comes under marvel controler

The cards are bridged.
Theres no esata disable option in bios but i turned the 3rd pci-e slot (unused) into x4 which turns off the esata port. Theres also a jmb storage controller option for the esata which I also disabled and still no luck.
Tried installing older drivers, but they just seem to bug out on intallation - I'll try again when I get time, a bit busy at the mo.
Other people seem to have this problem too on Nvidia's forum so hopefully it'll get a look at.
