Hi all

Question is about sli

I have a xfx 8800 Gtx 575 core
If i sli it do i have to buy the same card again with same speed
Or can i

1. put slower card as sli 1 use slightly faster one in sli2
2. Upgrade bios of slower card so it has same speed as new card

*Note*
1 Slow card = xfx 8800 gtx 575/1800
2 new card = any make 8800 gtx 600/**** (what ever mem speed they are)

Thanks in advance

No they don't you can mix and match makes and speeds. As long as they are 8800GTX the will be fine

all you have to do and this is what i did, make sure your slowest card can clock up to the stock speeds of your faster card if your slower card is stable then flash your slowest card with your fastest cards bios.

this will in turn give you the proper sli gtx performance aswell as not having to fiddle with overclocking programs.

I remember reading somewhere that you need to install 2 of the same (different speeds - yeah) but not different brands, or maybe this was just a means of making you buy another of the same brand?

It was like this when SLI first came out but you can use any brand now.
