Sli help

Ok guys ive just got my new Ivy vision rev 2 coolers. Now ive fit one on already, took me a while, tricky job. Ive stuck it into the case on its own, temps are amazing. Now its that big it only just fit in sli . Now this is obviously gonna affect the temp for the top card. My question is can i use slot 1 and slot 3 instead of slot 1 and 2. Will it give me 8x 8x on my board? thanks guys hope for quick reply before i put other one together. oh i cant, it wont be in sli ahhhhh what do i do

Looking at the specs of the board the last slot will be x4 mode, only 1 & 2 will be dual 8x.

yeah it wouldnt be sli anyway as i say would it. even though the top card is getting very little air the temps are still around 35 now. with no card blocking it they where under 20
Im gonna have to leave them like this and keep them on 100 percent fan speed, they are silent so no worries. But what a ballache
