SLI improvements at 1440p ?

I'd remove that link if I was you

Haha, replaced it with an OC card. Always buy from OC but the alternate site has guaranteed next day.

If you plan to add a 2nd 4gb 770 yes. If you play to stick with one i wouldn't bother, you won't have the grunt required to saturate 2gb or more of vram.

I think if I was going to upgrade Id stick with one card, but if one card couldnt use the 4gb then theres not a lot of point really.

Think I may well just see how BF4 pans out in the next couple of weeks and try running on ultra with a few settings turned down and see how I get on.

How can I tell how much vRam the card is using at any one time?

Probably best off getting a 290/780 then. ;)

You can monitor vram with msi afterburner, amongst other things.

Probably worth listening to these folks who have 2gb sli cards trying to play bf4 at the highest settings. :)

I have 680s in SLi and the performance as been fantastic on my 1440p monitor. I'd really think hard about upgrading now though as games are coming out that push past the 2gb vram limit. BF4 is the only game so far that I've experienced this with but I can't run it in ultra even though the cards have the power to do it because they don't have enough vram. Slightly annoying as I've had the second 680 less then a year.

Yeah what jeps said 2gb vram aint gonna cut it for demanding games especially at your res. I game at the same res as you do and I got 670SLI 2gb and while most games are fine at max settings and 50fps+ there is some that I struggle with.
I would look at the 290 CF them you can get the cheapest one:

I personally don't think its worth getting the x version for about 8% performance, and who knows drivers might catch up to that. If you aint worried about heat and noise get them now, or wait for a couple months and they will bring them out with custom coolers.

Game is barely playable if you had the most powerful system in the world sadly.

One reason not to make any judgements on what cards are good for it until they sort the mess out.

I was running at Ultra with AA down quite low and it was ok most of the time, the Resort map with the hotel always ran bad though, but it still did when I went down to high as well.

Im considering trading my card for a 4gb version, but if I ebay my current one thats still going to cost me £100 to do, just to get another 770 gtx but with 4gb.

Some people find it barely playable thats true, however I had no probs at all after disabling core parking. A simple fix to make the game smooth as hell with 780 sli/4770k

bakes seems to be suggesting a general problem with 670SLI at 1440... I never had that... can't comment specifically on BF4 except to say that it is currently a buggy mess

I think my 670SLI is great its had no problems, its just the games ive listed above that 2gb vram aint gonna cut it. Yeah I cant really count BF4 as its a buggy mess atm.

My 2gb 770 Lightnings in SLI ran BF4 much better then I thought it would. Tried my friends copy. Tbh though I bought a Xbox One for BF4 online. Not a huge FPS fan.
