Is there any way to get around this if a game doesn't support the use of SLI? I just bought a GTX 560 Ti, and I was thinking if I should get a 750w XFX PSU to support 2 560 cards, but I'm not so sure now I have heard about compatibility issues with some games.
 
Almost every heavy GPU demanding game supports SLI........

List the games you play and someone will reply with which ones SLI works and don't work with....
 
Oh, I realise that most new games will support it I was just worried about games from back in the day that wouldn't support it. Deus Ex, Thief, Baldur's Gate, System Shock 2 etc. Mostly stuff from the 90s and early 2000s although I realise that SLI will support games from today as a lot of people have dual cards.
 
:p I understand that the 560 will kill most games, but all I was wondering was whether there were other compatibility issues with games that don't like to run with 2 cards. I was looking at an SLI compatible list and a lot of older games weren't on there which made me think that there were software constrictions that were incompatible with running two cards.

having the second 560 won't **** the game up if that's what you're wondering. One of them just won't be used :)

Surely though on old games SLI is unnecessary?

I will be playing new games, I was just wondering if older games would work too.

What would 2 560s equate to in comparison with a high end card, out of interest?

I've had SLI 460's for six months now and I'm really impressed. No compatability problems that I've found. Just plug in the second card, enable SLI in the Nvidia control panel and watch your framerates nearly double :)
