Ok ive just installed my 2nd Zotac Geforce gtx 470 with the SLI bridge and i have no options in the Nvidia to enable SLI or anything that even mentions SLI.

AMD Phemom II x4 955 3.2Ghz
ASUS M4A87TD EVO
PNY 4GB DDR3 RAM 1333mz

I have installed the latest version of the nvidia drivers and updated the REALtek NIC drivers (some people were says that helped them) but still no luck! Also updated my BIOS from 0902 to 1102. Wondered if that was the problem but having trouble putting the BIOS back to 0902. Dont wanna play about with the BIOS too much but if thats the issue then i must. Also now wehn i run RIFT the game freezes on me. Lots of little white and black pixel like shapes appear on my screen after a little while and the game crashes.

please help me!

Regards

Luke

Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to the forums :)

The board does not support SLI I`m afraid.

If it did the 2nd slot is limited to 4x which would harm performance of the 2nd card.

As RJC says there's no SLI support for that motherboard.

If you've bought the card in the last few days I suggest you send it back under DSR for a refund.

oh snap really!?!?!?!?

ok that really sucks! i brought it from OCUK and received it on Friday, is that refundable?

Even so, why is Rift giving me so much trouble now? Is it because of the BIOS? if so how do i put it back to 0902? The ASUS utility wont put the BIOS to an older edition?

Any ideas?

Any help i would really appreciate.

Yes you can send it back under DSR for any reason within 7 days for a full refund.

This only applies to mail order goods which I assume applies to you.

You need to contact OCUK and tell them you are returning the item under the Distance Selling Regulations for a refund. They should refund the value of the goods and any postage charges you paid.

The cost of sending the card back will be down to you. Make sure you send it by a recorded method and properly insured.

I think you have to inform them in writing.

ah ok thats brilliant thank you very much.

Ive just tried the game again and it didn't crash, hopefully thats fixed.

Ill post here again if it still happens!

i had the same problem, it sounds as though your board does not support sli. I sold both my cards and bought a better 1. I would suggest doing the same as dual cards cost more on the electric bills to do the same job 1 good card could do for cheaper

I thought that already and took one out, but still had the same problem.

When the game crashes some times it comes up with a windows message at the bottom tool bar (near the clock) saying "graphics driver has failed, but it has been recovered by windows".

Ive reinstalled drivers but still happened.

i left the comp for a few hours and tried again and it seems to work now, without any changes.

ill post again if any probs

thanks for help all

You're a bit late in the game with that answer

The OP can return the second card for a full refund so no need to sell it.

If they want to sell the first card and buy a "better" one then that's their choice.
