hello all,

this may be the wrong forum, if so sorry.

i currently have a single bfg 8800gts oc 320mb (bought from ocuk ;) ) and will soon be ordering a second for Sli but the problem is i currently dont have a sli link cable to join the two. i may have had one when i built my pc but it has since disappeared. (iam dangerous with bits, i lost a x1800 gto once)

will another come with the card iam about to order or did the one i have come with the mobo ( a p5ne sli)

and if iam stuck do ocuk sell them? ive had a quick look but without knowing the parts exact name iam struggling to find anything.

cheers.

edit- have sourced a link from another source, there was a choice of two a 4cm one which would have required blowtorch surgery and a 10cm one which iam going to give a go. if all else fails does anyone have a asus 'help, i cant be trusted with things i need' support phone number :)

haha :p

seriously worth thinking about selling the gts and getting a gtx, or waiting for the ati cards and selling the gts for one of them.

oh mate i have thought about it, quite a bit.

ive always been burnt when trying to sell off cards for new ones and thats tainted things for me. (curse you ati and your x1800's curse you.)

over the years that is what ive always done, but now with a bit more in income as opposed to getting the cards as presents etc, iam going to try something different.

unfortunately my subconscious mind is unhappy with this change in policy and is trying to do me in at every turn.

SLi'd 320mb GTS's are a complete waste, you will still only have 320mb memory, and will only get the benefit from games that use SLi, so the ones that dont use SLi will be runnnig on one card, so id agree with the above, sell it and go for a GTX. :)

most of it will probably go to waste, but the games i play do have sli 'support' although in fairness probably in the same way as modern games have dual-core support with the 2nd only doing like 10% of the work.

well i iam going to give it a go anyway, it may not work out at all but the way things are going il have to upgrade again in 3 weeks anyway to keep up.

this presuming of course that i can bend the sli link i have coming to fit, its a few cm too long.

the fun of chasing my dragon. :(
