OK OK before we start:

YES I know there are no official nVidia drivers to run SLI on an intel chipset mainboard.

YES I know there are several unofficial "hacked" drivers that will allow certain nVidia graphics cards to run on intel chipset mainboards.

YES I know the 100000s of people have asked for the information from nVidia and they arent giving any information away...

Ok... I have an Abit AW9D-MAX mainboard... bought mainly because the Overclockers website said "supports nVidia Dual Graphics" when IT DOESNT MEAN SLI... so I wish theyd remove that comment. Its misleading and is borderline misselling the item.

Ive always preferred the nVidia cards so originally I kept my 2x nVidia 7800GTX cards and tried them in SLI mode....

Nothing worked. Not even the hacked drivers. I got the SLI ENABLE option up but enabling it did absolutely nothing.. no difference.. nada... zip... It seemed like the driver was hacking the menu display option rather than the ability to turn it on.

I ended up buying a BFG 8800GTS OC2 320mb card and running it solo in my machine..

I see endless posts about enabling SLI on Intel chipsets but in no post does anyone mention newer cards.. its always 7900GTX or some other card.

Has ANYONE actually managed to enable SLI with either the 7800GTX cards or anything newer... a DX10 card for example. Im not interested in 7900GTX results... only equipment that I have.... not that I need to go out and buy.

Better asking that on the hacked driver thread on XS I would have thought.

Last time I checked the 8 series wasn't supported.
