I have an unused 9800 GTX+ and a new SLI motherboard for my core 2 chip. Currently I have a 1gig 4850 in there, is the GTX+ about the same performance wise or not, is it worth buying a 2nd to SLI and what price should I ask for for the 4850? it's a retail boxed POWERCOLOR 1 gig - perfect condition.

What resolution do you game at? Do you *need* to go SLI? Are there any games you play at the moment that chug enough to warrant a £140 upgrade?

as the above said, if you play @ 1440x900, then the 4850 is fine. if you play @ 1680x1050, then it's still a bit overkill, but @ 1920x1200, it will perform fairly well. if the 4850 has been used, even if only to put in your system, you should expect around £90 as a price, maybe a bit higher, but not much

I game at 1680x1050 and was offered £110 for the card by a mate, I told him I'd think about it.

£110? pretty good, but what games do you play? don't think sli is worth it. why don't you try both cards in your system and see which one performs better for what you play

If you play at that res. just stick to the card that plays the games you like the best.
Flog the other one to your mate and use the cash to go towards something else.

I like Crysis, play that more often than not, I always found the Nvidia drivers better than ATI's. Crysis plays a tad better on the 9800 GTX+, the GTX is made by Palit, is it a good brand like XFX or a cheap one?

9800GTX+ SLI will dominate most SLI compatible games performance wise against all but the 4870X2. Theres the odd game where SLI doesn't help much like GTA4 (probably never will be if older GTA games are anything to go by) but in the main most recent titles scale very well with SLI.
