SLI psu requirement

I think a 750w+ should be able to do the job. Depends on what rads and other components you are running though.

Edit: And welcome to the forum I didn't see your post count :)

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

The 970 pull little power and a quality 750w will be ample to run two of these on majority of systems.

apologies if there was an introductory thread i was supposed to fill in for my first post, i didn't notice one.

as you might have guessed im in the planning stages of what will be my first pc build so my grasp of working out how wattage requirements etc add up is pretty poor. iv been using ************ to do all the hard work of working out compatibilities but some components aren't on their list, and i have no idea how to add all the components of a water loop to the list so their estimated wattage is probably a bit out. excluding the graphics cards the estimated wattage requirement for the system so far is 231w, would a 750w psu still be adequate?

750w is fine

my 670's pull more power than the 970 yet the total system draw at the wall is only 550w

Yep, I can't remember what I got with my 970 GTX I think I got around 330w whilst gaming and thats includes custom water on the cpu.

Reviews show that total system power draw with sli 970's is 450-500w. They are extremely efficient cards. Most of us use plug in power monitors to measure power draw.
