I am sure I read in another post somewhere (sorry can't find it) that with SLI you can force 1 card to run the rendering and the other to do the AA - is this possible?
 
yeah indeed, doesn't really do much mind, know where the option is to 'enable SLI' and such is, go to 'performance & quality settings' then you should see a drop down menu saying basic/advanced settings, select advanced settings, scroll down until you see 'rendering mode' and select SLI AA and crank AA upto 16x and AF upto 16x :p
