Hi all

Ive got Sli G/Cards im using the top card for output.
I have a option in bios to use the bottom card as output.

the question is

My top card is getting very hot 81 Deg the bottom card is 53 Deg
I think the bottom card is making the top card hot.
if i change the output round do you think the top card will coll down a little.
as im not sure how sli works does card 1 take most of the load ( ie get hotter)

any input would be great

Doesnt work like that, its just getting hotter cuz its above, they share the load more or less.

Install a fan (120mm) over both cards get the air moving

I thought that may be tha case.

both card gpu's face down and i have no room between them to fit any fans i have fitted a duel evercool exhaust fan above the top card and 3 x 80mm fans blowing on them from case window.. and another near level with cpu on rear of case to exhaust from cpu.

Even though they are running in heat range its enoying me :P never had a card that hot before.
maybe ill have to water cool top card.

anyway thx for reply

You can try switching them around.

Not all cards are created equal. When I had 6800GTs in SLI, one of them would run consistently 5 - 10C warmer when they were used separately.

The top card generally runs warmer as it takes more load (plus hot air rises...), so it's probably best to have the cooler running card as output. Bear in mind, though, that the two cards will only be both working when you're running an SLI game. In windows, only the primary card is in active use so there will always be a slight difference between them then.

ok thx for reply ill try that ..

but i must say ive had nothing but overheating probs since using the asus a8n sli delux .. seems such a crap layout and north bridge stuck in the middle of the 2 graphic cards .. so even that gets hot . so ive ordered a extra cooler for that..
