I was wondering if it is possible to mix two different brands of card in SLI without any side effects. As I understand, both cards would have to have the same clock speeds etc. I have one of the older non-OC BFG 8800GTXs, but since they are not available anymore, can I get a cheaper equivalent?

you can have an overclocked card with a non overclocked card. it will clock each card accordingly.
can be different manufacturers as well. so buy the ocuk gtx for cheaper. will work fine.
