If i were to SLI two GTX 670's, can i disable one so that it does not draw any power/isnt used if i just want to use one card ( say if i am just not gaming or playing a game that doesnt need the power of two cards)

I bought a PE OC GTX 670 not too long ago and now with the even better deal () on the non overclocked version i was perhaps thinkning about using the overclocked card as my main card and then having the second 670 in there for demanding games. Also, i have no doubt that some of the next gen console ports could probably do with the power of two 670's anyway!

I would assume however that if you disable SLI in the Nvidia control panel the second card will only be at an idle state the whole time correct? The 670's dont draw much at idle i dont think (just looked ..14w)

Correct. The second card will just sit there with minimum clock speeds.
