Hi guys,

Im trying to set up two 970 cards I have bought into SLI configuration on my rig. Its got windows 10 so im not sure if its that which is causing any issues or not.

Anyway i've managed to get the cards in the machine and powered up and working but I keep getting a message that the SLI connector isn't there. Is this a simple issue of me having a dud SLI bridge connector?

Ive tried uninstalling the drivers with DDU and reinstalling and re-seating the cards and I can't work out why its not working.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe my 750W PSU isn't enough to power both of them in SLI?

I can see the option in the nvidia control panel but I can't actually click on to enable, on disable is clickable.

Help!

Thanks in advance :)

Have you tried both sli connections? Or another bridge?

750w is supposed to be fine, but I had a 750w PSU and it blew my system up when I went SLI so what do I know. :D

I don't have a spare bridge to test but the connectors make little difference. Common sense would suggest its the bridge thats duff right?

Are they identical 970s ?

Despite Nvidia claiming different branded cards of the same type should work there are can be problems with this (Only seen this issue with 970s).

I have experienced the issue myself which manifests in the way you describe where it shows sli bridge as being missing. EVGA have also confirmed it happens with different versions of their own 970s

There is a hack called differentSLIauto(?) which amongst other things allows SLI over the PCI bus you can use.

If they are identical cards then maybe it is indeed a dud bridge :)
