Hey guys!

Got my m1730 with SLI 8800m GTX a few days ago (Basically the old desktop 8800GTS320/640MB)

In CSS and BF2 I seem to get a bit of stuttering when SLI is enabled, I turned SLI of now its completely smooth!

Had same prob with UT3 and Crysis though I haven't tryed either with SLI disabled yet.

I'm using the latest drivers from Dell which are 167.55(Left all settings on default).

New to SLI so I'm not sure what to try tbh.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

download the latest drivers with the modified .inf file from www.laptopvideo2go.com These are basically desktop drivers modified to work on latops. if you browse the forums there you will find user feedback on which drivers are best in what situation.

I currently have a 1730 with dual 8700's in sli (although its going back to dell on wednesday for a refund) and i have no issues with sli at all everything is very smooth this was with the stock drivers installed when it was delivered and updated drivers. So maybe there is a hardware problem with your machine?

Cheers,
Hugest

I'll try the latest driver from LT2G when i get home from work tomorrow. If it still stutters in games I guess I'll phone XPS support and see what they say!

This might also explain why Dell left SLI turned of by default when I first got the machine:rolleyes:

Dont read too much into sli being off by default when you got it as it is how dell ship them i think as mine was the same sli is disabled in the driver when everyone first receives it. Good luck :)
