just got my 2 gtx 460 cyclones in sli and couldn't be any happier.

the only thing is that the top card gets a lot hotter when gaming due to there being less airflow.

on idel, the temp difference is only 4 degrees but when gaming the difference is about 12 degrees.

now the heat is not the issue as both cards are still under 75 degrees. its the noise of the top fan as it hits about 81% and is very loud.

now i know i can set a fan profile on afterburner but im a bit of a noob with this software and dont want to set the fan profile too low and then melt the card.

my case is a coolmaster cosmos. i cant move the card down a slot as its only pci 8x and will be then right next to the psu.

anyone got any ideas? maybe get a 120mm fan blowing opposite them?

cheers.

ok cheers ill try that. would heaven benchmark be a good stress test if i put everything on max.

ill start with about 65% fan speed and monitor the temps with the on screen display from afterburner. if it gets above 95 degrees ill exit the benchmark and up the fan speed.

is this a good way to do it??

Haven is ok to get an idea of what temps will be like in games.

Furmak is still what people tend to use for stressing. Its been toned down by both Nvidia and ATI in their drivers, but will still get the card hotter than you will see in game.
