SLI with AMD ?

Is it possible to set up a 2x SLi (2x GTX460) on a AMD board ? Im pretty sure it is, but someone told me its not and confused me to hell.

Could anyone elaborate ? Also if someone could link any in decent price.

As far as I know, you can only SLi on an NVidia chipset. So if you tell us your motherboard, or the motherboard in question, we should be able to tell you.

Hi no it wont as that has a AMD chipset on it, for SLI you need either the Asus M4N75TD or the M4N98TD, the 98td is the one i recommend which can be bought for £90.

Has to be nForce chipset, otherwise you'd only be able to use two ati (amd nowadays) cards

So just to ask, was what I said before about needing an "Nvidia Chipset" correct, or is there more to it then that? Obviously 2 PCI-E slots extra, but disreguarding that? (I dislike not knowing simple things like this )

your 85%right, it needs to be a Nvidia chipset, but also needs to run both pci-e slots at the same speed, just because it says it has two 16XPCI-E slots doesnt mean they both run at the same speed with two GPU'S inserted.
