I have just re-configured my main rig for SLi running after using one of the cards in a different rig.

Now when ever I try to enable SLi, the nVidia control panel says 'Before you can enable SLi, all graphics cards must be installed in PCI Express slots with bandwidth of x4 or greater.

the main infor page says that the bus speed is set to x8, which if i remember correctly is correct as SLi halves the x16 of the PCI express.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this snag?

Have re-installed both motherboard and gfx card drivers and the problem still persists.

Cheers in advance

Are both cards recognised properly in device manager?

Have you double checked the little SLI toggle card is clicked home fully and the correct way around ?

decto

both cards are recognised is Hardware manager.

The SLi bridge is fully seated and orientated as per the instruction manual. On the bridge card there are J1 and J2 connectors. WHich goes to which card?

As far as I know the bridge link between the two cards is universal so will fit eiter way,

It's the card you flip over on the mainbaord that has to be set for SLI.

It will be because that when you run in SLI on that board both slots only operate at x8 speed.

I think its only the A8N32-SLI Deluxe from Asus that run both slots at x16 when you are running SLI.

I should tell you in the manual aswell what speeds it will run at when in SLI so just look in there.

Or are you saying that it wont let you because it comes up with

Have just turned the bridge around and hey presto all SLi functions are now restored.

Cheers for the help Decto.

PS - there isnt a card on my motherboard for SLi
