SLI Woes!

In that thread spankingtexan linked to in post#9 they fixed a similar problem by rolling back the network drivers. Seems strange but it worked for a couple of people in that thread.

Unfortunately a new bridge hasnt changed anything. I tried the bridge both way rounds, on both bridge ports.

I have now completley run out of ideas, other than a windows reinstall, although realistically wouldnt see that achieving anything.

i just added another 770 to my rig yesterday, and all i did was inserted the card went into bios made sure my pci lane was on the same as the first lane gen3 and started windows up. windows or nvidia configured the drivers straight away,(sli option in control panel), mind you it wouldn't configure untill i closed down sound blaster, which it told me too do.

Which motherboard do you have and does it definitely support SLI?

Which PSU do you have and is it supplying enough power for both cards and have you plugged in any extra 6 or 8 pin power plugs into the cards?

I know you said you have tried different drivers but have you tried 327.24? if not give em ago, go to the NVidia drivers thread / post 503 / choose the one you need / before installing, in installation options choose custom advanced / tick perform a clean installation.

Make sure you got all the windows updates too.

both cards are identicle, cant see anything in the bios relating to SLI. I am however going to try a format/windows reinstall, pretty much out of desperation.

If onboard video is enabled, will disable prior to doing this.

Local shop isnt bad to be fair to them, they just know how to charge! A fresh pair of eyes may see something I havent.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions, I will keep plodding on for now.

How strange. I just bought two GTX 670's as well and all i did was insert them and connect the bridge, My computer then proceeded to install everything it needed automatically and it just worked : /

Is there anything in your bios that means you have to actually enable sli?

Well, Ive finally found the problem, though why it is a problem I dont know.

I formatted/reinstalled windows, and installed the cards one at a time. Lo and behold, the SLI options soon popped up. Result.

However, as I wanted to install drivers one at a time to avoid any conflicts, I had taken my Soudblaster card out prior to the reinstall.

As soon as I put the soundcard in, the 2 cards showed up with an exclamation mark in device manager, and windows was in some ungodly resolution. Reinstalling the drivers for them fixed the issue, however, doing so turned the NV control panel back to its original state of displaying 2 cards, but no SLI options available!

I rebooted, removing the soundcard, and the SLI options reappeared.

FWIW, when I was running with the soundcard in, it worked/installed fine, but as soon as it touches a pci-e slot, it screws up sli.

So... thats my new problem, although in fairness, I can live with onboard sound.

Thanks for everyones help and suggestions, got there (well, close enough) in the end.
