Currently running a Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB. I play at resolution of 1920x1200.

I thinking of getting another GTX 460 to SLI with, does it have to be the exact same or can I get another model?

Cheers.

Doesn't have to be the same model, but has to be the same specs as regards memory size and memory speed (don't mix the standard 256bit with the cut down 192 bit models for example), etc..

Is it worth it? I would say so.

The GTX 460's are (appeartly) great SLI cards. On a review i saw they had 95% improvement in Framerates. I don't know how true that is though. :)

Well worth it all the same, can be picked up for around £80 now.

Cracking cards in sli, performance with them is very good. Have a pair of gigabyte windforce 1gb models in my second rig. Sadly though, due to the very poor spacing on the mobo they run very hot. Tried them on my rig in sig, (much better spacing). Very cool and quiet due to the non reference cooler.

1gb vram is a little on the low side for 1200p, should be ok.for.now but a couple of games might need a bit more than that. BF3 probablu uses close to 1gb vram at tthat resolution at high settings.

Good call on the 480 option, the higher vram will help. Considering this as a swap for my 460 1gb's, if i can source a 480 from someone other than evga.

Just gone the same route, had a 460 and picked up another for £50. I am having to buy a new psu but consider that a long term investment, apart from bf3 on ultra I doubt anything else will trouble it. The way I see it the 460 has already depreciated significantly and i won't lose much more if I shift them on in 6 months whereas higher prices cards will drop further.

I've been running SLI 460's for over a year and I'm very happy with them. No stability or driver problems. You need a case with good airflow and decent spacing on the motherboard or they can get very hot though. Bang for buck quotient is very high indeed :D
