Hey guys

After some consideration, I have decided to purchase 2x MSI GTX 780s.
My question to those who are knowledgeable in these matters is,
What kind of performance increase should I expect over my single GTX 670 on my Asus P8Z77-V Pro. Will my motherboard enable me to benefit from such an upgrade?

Any info appreciated.

Chris

I'd say around a 70% bump in performance. In some games you'll see even more, while in others there will be less. As far as I know, with that mobo you get 2 x PCIe 3.0 x 16 lanes so performance should be fine - even if one of those lanes drops to x 8 when a second card is added (whether it drops to x 8, I don't know). What's the spacing like between the lanes?

You have a 3770K, so that will handle multi gpu fine.

So it would be a good investment then? And what about my motherboard, will this handle the upgrade?
2*PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (1@x16 or dual@x8); 1*PCIe 2.0x16

A. The performance will be awesome.
B. The motherboard is fine to give you said awesome performance
C. Is your PSU powerful enough?
D. If answer to C. is "yes" then purchase them now and smile. If the answer to C. "no" then purchase a better PSU and then answer D. again.

You're good to go. :D

Ignore these "its a waste" posts that will turn up. Just think "What would Clarkson do?"

MORRREEE POOOWWWAAAHHHHH

Clarkson is a tit.

It might not be a waste depending on resolution but spending out on a pair of 780's for a single 1080p is plain silly and a waste of money if this is the case.
